‘Canada’ 8″ x 22″

Have you ever heard of the ‘Group of Seven’?

Neither had I, but it turned out to be the basis for the Wet Canvas challenge for February, to produce a Canadian landscape in the style of one of the Group of Seven.

It is surprisingly difficult to simplify painting sometimes and put in less detail. I was particularly inspired by the work of Lawren Harris and tried my best to scale my detail down to a more art deco Lawren Harris style.
