They don’t make a dice with an infinite number of sides*

I find the different types of dice available fascinating, and in fact, the largest number of sides a dice can have is a staggering 120 sides! Don’t believe me? Check this out: 120 sided dice. I believe that our capacity to love is just the same – we may have different sides of our heart for friends, lovers, parents, children, siblings etc but there’s room for the different types of love – even sides for loved ones we have lost but still miss. When, for example, a new child is born – your love grows. You just add another side to the dice.

For my latest painting titled ‘Calon’ I chose a clear 12-sided dice, as 12 and 9 are my favourite numbers and this dice made it possible to incorporate both into the painting. I’d like to give a mention to the wonderful Gamers’ Emporium in Swansea with grateful thanks for supplying me with a fantastic selection of RPG dice to work from.

The Gamers’ Emporium is Swansea’s independent retailer of board, card, miniature and role-playing games. Founded in 2012, they are a family-run and family-friendly business who aim to provide a safe and welcoming place to play and buy all of your favourite games. They run events almost every evening, so whether you’re into trading card games, wargaming or good old RGP – they will have an evening of fun to suit you. If you’re not lucky enough to be in beautiful South Wales, you can also order products from their website.

So, what do you think of my latest painting? If you like it, you may be interested to know that the digital download is already available on my Etsy store, with glossy A6 postcards arriving in stock next week.  Of course, the beautifully framed 30″ x 24″ original canvas is also available for sale – do drop me a line if you’re interested.

Until next month my friends 🙂

*If they did, I’m pretty sure the Gamers Emporium would stock it!
For the non-Welsh speakers, Calon translates as ‘Heart’
